Take advantage of your Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) benefit

This article explains how customers with a Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) agreement, or a legacy Azure Commit to Consume (CtC) agreement, can use the commercial marketplace to find and purchase Azure benefit-eligible offers that count toward your organization's commitment.

What is MACC?

MACC is a contractual spending commitment that your organization can enter with Microsoft Azure. The more your organization commits on your Azure spending over time, the more you will save.

How can I take advantage of my MACC?

If you already have a MACC agreement, or a legacy Azure CtC agreement, then you can use the commercial marketplace to find and purchase Azure enefit-eligible offers that count toward your organization's commitment.

Which Azure Marketplace offers count toward my MACC?

Here's a list of eligible solutions:

  • Solutions that run primarily on the Microsoft platform
  • Solutions that extend the Microsoft cloud products or infrastructure

All Azure benefit-eligible offers purchased through Azure Marketplace contribute 100% of the pretax purchase amount toward your organization's commitment.

If an Azure benefit-eligible solution is transacted on or after the effective date of your commitment agreement, the purchase counts toward the commitment when the invoice is generated for the transaction.

Note

Microsoft Azure services billed to your organization through an Azure Marketplace deployment inherently contribute toward your organization's commitment. An additional benefit to purchasing Azure benefit-eligible offers is that the software/IP costs incurred by purchasing solutions from Microsoft partners also contribute 100% of your Azure Marketplace invoice.

How to find (and purchase) benefit-eligible offers

Azure benefit-eligible offers are badged in the Azure Marketplace and Microsoft AppSource to help you identify solutions that contribute toward your organization's commitment.

To take advantage of the MACC benefit, purchase an eligible offer on Azure Marketplace or AppSource using an Azure subscription associated with your Microsoft agreement.

Important

  • Azure prepayment (previously called "monetary commitment") isn't eligible for this benefit.
  • Exclusions might apply to Azure CtC agreements signed prior to this marketplace benefit. For eligibility questions, contact your Microsoft account executive.
