Spread the Word by Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools®
Why should we spread inclusion throughout the world?
Inclusion means all people are accepted as equals and have access to the same opportunities. It ensures that everyone is seen, heard, respected, and welcomed.
Spread the Word is a campaign led by Special Olympics and Best Buddies. It empowers others to use their voice to spread inclusion. The founders of the campaign believed the world would be better if all people were valued and included on our teams, in our schools, and in our communities.
Students will learn about and practice inclusive behaviors after analyzing different media. They'll learn how to overcome bias. Students will learn about social courage and how it can lead to strong connections. They'll be challenged to reflect on their own behaviors and to plan how they can spread inclusion in the future. This will encourage students to build their inclusive mindsets.
